alright folks. how are ya?
I’m doing well. The rehearsals are going great. We’re averaging about one practice a week. Now that may sound like it wouldn’t yield much of a result but I say to you, dear reader, NAY! We’ve been working on nearly half of “INTENSITY IN TEN CITIES” currently. Mainly the harder stuff. And as you can see from the video (I’ll post it again in this entry), we’ve also dabbled into the newer songs like “Dangerous Game” (listen to it on myspace). It’s coming together quite nicely, I must admit. And I strongly believe that if we execute at least some of the ideas we have for the live show, it’ll be quite an experience. But the first step here is getting the band to knock out the songs. And we are, let me tell you. I’m so stoked to have these guys on board with this. I’ve missed legitimately performing. You know where everyone has a good time and you aren’t dealing with smug jerk-offs who talk about how much dough they dropped on a plane last week. No I’m talking about the performing where I see people there to hear music. I’m talking about the performing where people are smiling and moving around, with the occasional super-fan who sings the lyrics back at you. It will be soon, this I promise you.
I think in the previous entry, I managed to somewhat overlook the detail about my album “INTENSITY IN TEN CITIES”. I mentioned something to the effect of a revamped full length. If you head over to the download page, you’ll notice that the option to obtain the album has been taken away. In light of bringing together this kick ass group of musicians, the plan currently is to take the absolute best songs from IITC and re-record them. This time, we’ll have myself and the rest of the crew playing the parts instead of just me or a sequencer. Along with those songs, we’re going to work in new material as well. I’ve been working on new song ideas for what would have been the next CORY PATTERSON album that I hope will be a part of this new full length album. As for the IITC songs that aren’t a part of the “re-release new release” will re-emerge as a free EP download or something.
I think I should also make mention that I really would like to incorporate some acoustic shows on any off time the band has between shows. The reason being that unfortunately for the people who are familiar with my older tunes, it’ll be a long time before we incorporate any of those songs in a full band setting. But simply because I don’t want to stop playing those songs cold turkey, the acoustic shows will be a good opportunity to play those songs. So please look out for that! It’ll be a good time for sure.
Anyway, enjoy the video AGAIN. this time in youtube format!!!
love peace and chicken grease!
